We are located in Beautiful West Point PEI
East Point
East Point lighthouse is situated on the extreme eastern end of Prince Edward Island where the mighty tides of the St.Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait meet to create a show of nature's force.

The East Point Lighthouse is one of Prince Edward Island's itinerant lighthouses. This 64 foot, octagonal, wooden tower was built in 1867 about a half mile (0.8 kilometres) from its designated mark. On September 12, 1882, the British war ship,Phoenix, was wrecked off the point due partly to the position of the light. In 1885 the light was moved within 200 feet of the Point. Due to erosion the lighthouse was moved to its present position in 1908, and a fog alarm building was also built. In 1908, severe erosion caused another move. The balcony was added in the 60's for the new fog detector. This lighthouse was open during winters during World War Two to aid young pilots attending the British Commonwealth Flying School in Mt. Pleasant, PEI.

The fourth order Fresnel lens was removed and has been replaced with a small electric beacon. Local residents have been heard to say, "We had a Roman Candle, and now we have a Bic Lighter!"

The old fog alarm building today houses crafts and an interpretive centre. There are tours of the East Point Lighthouse during the summer months. Follow Route 16 to reach East Point Lighthouse.
